Frequently Asked Questions

Although most of the questions below are answered throughout this site, here is a convenient page to find quick answers to some of our most often asked questions.

Q: What is the maximum number of people you can accommodate for a single event?

A: The Scottish Rite Auditorium seats approximately 1800 people, and therefore is a maximum. Although we could add another 600 people they would be seated in the Commandery, and split off from the main group.

Q: How is food service provided for this many people?

A: The Dayton Masonic Center and our caterers can serve a maximum of 700 people in a single sitting. Eating arrangements can be divided so that very large groups are seated at different times.

Q: What is the minimum number for an event?

A: We have had a couple, married in the front foyer, with no guests. Yes, this is unusual, but we can do that. The minimum number that we can provide a meal for is 10. Note that Belmonte Park Hospitality is open for lunch from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. weekdays.

Q: Do you offer tours in the DMC?

A: Yes. We ask that anyone who may be considering an event here to first tour the building. We also encourage schools, other educational groups, business and interested organizations to make arrangements for a tour. Individuals interested in Freemasonry should contact a member of one of the resident Lodges at the DMC.

Q: Can I arrange a fundraiser event at the DMC?

A: Yes. Obviously all events here are done in good taste. Please contact us for what is appropriate and what is not.

Q: Is the front lawn available?

A: Yes. In fact you can open the front doors and have facilities available inside and out. This is perfect for picnics, class reunions, fund-raising walks/runs and events of this nature.

Q: Can my club or other organization meet at the DMC?

A: Absolutely. We have rooms available for clubs large and small to meet. We also have two rooms available to accommodate board meetings or any meeting where a conference table and podium might be necessary.

Q: Can I use a different food/catering service for my event?

A: The two perferred caterers at the Dayton Masonic Center are Benham’s and Elite catering.  Please contact Steve Argast, Director Dayton Masonic Center for information (937-224-9795).

A: Yes, in designated areas. Alcoholic beverages can be served in the main dining hall, the front foyer and the first floor lounge.
